Zimbabwean lawmaker denied entry into Parliament because of his colourful suit

A member of the Zimbabwean parliament, Trevor JI Saruwaka was on Thursday last week denied entry into his work place because his outfit supposedly violated house rules.

Saruwaka turned up to work dressed in a multicolored suit after the colours of the Zimbabwean national flag, but was refused entry into his office.

The law maker took to twitter to express his dismay at what he described as criminalizing patriotism.
According to reports, anti-government members in politics, media and the populace recently adopted the #ThisFlag campaign as a form of protest against president Mugabe's ruling party, Zanu-PF which has ruled the country for decades.
The government in turn hit back by reviving legislation that makes it a crime to "abuse" the national flag.
Zimbabwe Higher Education Minister Jonathan Moyo said in a tweet that Saruwaka was denied entry "was for being inappropriately dressed, adding that even bush lawyers & fools know that Parliament has a dress code. It's in the standing orders!"
