Man shot dead after slashing the neck of a police officer in Paris

France: French police has shot a 29-year-old man dead after he attacked a nurse and stabbed a policewoman in suburban Paris on Friday. According to report from Le Parisien, the nurse was attacked after receiving a call to a house in Vincennes on Friday morning.

After police officers arrived at the house, the suspect stabbed a policewoman in the neck before he was shot dead by the police officer’s colleagues.
The stabbed police officer was taken to hospital and is believed to be in a stable condition.

The motive for the attack was unknown but authorities disclosed to local media sources that the suspect had recently left a psychiatric hospital.

The attack comes just three days after another policewoman was stabbed in Toulouse, southwestern France by a man shouting that he was “sick of France”.

The attacker, identified as an Algerian, was arrested at the scene and taken into custody and the stabbed police woman was taken to hospital for stitches to neck injuries.
