French teen arrested over 'imminent' attack
France: A 15-year-old boy has been arrested
in the French capital city of Paris on suspicion of preparing imminent "violent action", two
sources revealed, with the second alleged plot with links to Islamic State
discovered in France this week.
According to two sources who spoke on condition of anonymity, the
boy who was arrested on Saturday last week had been under house arrest since France declared a state emergency
following the November 13, 2015 Paris attacks in which Islamic State militants
killed 130 people, but the sources did
not state why he was under house arrest.One of the source said his arrest comes as he was planning an attack in a public place in Paris.
The boy had been in contact with suspected French Islamist militant Rashid Kassim and that Kassim had also guided one of the women who were arrested last week as they plan to attack a train station in Paris said the second source.
Last Sunday, police arrested seven people including four women after a car loaded with gas cylinders and jerry cans of diesel was found near Notre Dame cathedral, leading to the discovery of a plot to attack a Paris railway station under the direction of Islamic State.
According to a report by French newspaper Le Monde, Kassim, 29 is in Syria and had used Telegram, a messaging service, to call for more attacks in France.
Le Monde quoted a message of Kassim on Telegram as saying;
"Women, sisters, go on, attack. Where are the brothers?...She brandished a knife and she hit a policeman...Where are the men?"One of the sources said Kassim, inspired the two men who carried out an attack in a French church in July during where they slit the throat of the elderly priest, an attack that shocked France coming just few days after another Islamic State militant drove a truck into crowds celebrating Bastille Day in Nice.
