French police arrest teenage terror suspect

France: A 15-year old boy suspected of planning an attack and using encrypted social media channels to communicate with a French Islamist militant believed to be in Syria or Iraq, have been arrested by police in France on Wednesday sources said.

Police raided the teenager in Paris' eastern 20th arrondissement in an operation led by France's domestic intelligence agency,

Speaking to reporters, France Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve said;

"We're working with extreme intensity to identify those we think are likely to carry out an attack," adding that Islamic State was recruiting "younger and younger individuals".

This marks the second time a 15-year-old have been arrested in five days on suspicion of plotting to kill in the name of Islamic State.

According to a source inside the prosecutor's office, the two teenagers had used Telegram to communicate with Rachid Kassim, a French national, who is an Islamic State jihadist.
