Football Paper Round: Roy Hodgson set for shock return to Premier League management
Hodgson set for shock return to West Brom
Former England manager Roy Hodgson has had enough of twiddling
his thumbs, say the Mirror. Instead, he's ready to take over as manager
at West Brom should Tony Pulis decide to ship out - or, as seems less likely, be shipped out - when a new consortium complete their purchase of the club.
Eddie Howe lined up for Arsenal job
The Sun brag that they have an exclusive - Eddie Howe is already
being lined up to take over in the hot-seat at Arsenal. Arsene Wenger,
meanwhile, will take a role in the club hierarchy, possibly as technical
director, and the board are hopeful that the pair would work well
together; Wenger has long been an admirer of Howe's methods.
Rooney should have retired, says Shilton
Most-capped England goalkeeper Peter Shilton says that Wayne Rooney
should have retired from international duty by now, according to the
Daily Star. Shilton says that Rooney ought to have taken the opportunity
to step down with dignity after the Euros.
