9 killed, 64 injured in car bomb blast at police headquarters in southeast Turkey

Turkey: At least nine people has been killed and 64 others wounded in a car bomb explosion that rocked a police headquarters in Cizre in southeast Turkey, a province that borders Syria and Iraq with a large Kurdish population on Friday morning said security sources.
State-run Anadolu Agency has blamed the attack on the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK), a group which has carried out series of attacks on daily bases in the region since July following collapsed ceasefire between it and the government.

According to reports by NTV broadcaster, the police station was totally destroyed by the blast. Another bomb blast happened at a nearby arms depot, damaging several buildings said NTV.

Unconfirmed reports claims that at least three police officers have been killed in the attack.

Images and video footage coming from the scene of the blast show destroyed buildings and ambulances rushing to the scene.

Turkey had on Wednesday launched Operation Euphrates Shield, sending its troops into northern Syria apparently to take the town of Jarablus from IS.
