Manchester City and Bayern Munich in advanced talks for Thiago Alcantara
Monchengladbach to prevent Mahmoud Dahoud Liverpool move
AZ Alkmaar knock back £16.5million Tottenham bid for Vincent Janssen
Newcastle set to sign Matt Richie for £12million
Manchester City are attempting to bring Thiago Alcantara to his
third club under Pep Guardiola, according to the Sun. The report says
that the Bayern Munich midfielder has been involved in talks
between
Guardiola and his former club, with the new City manager working hard to
get a deal over the line. Alcantara got his debut under Guardiola at
Barcelona, before following him to Bayern Munich. Both share the same
representation in Guardiola's brother, and the former Bayern manager is
said to be a "father figure" to Alcantara.
Mahmoud Dahoud will not be sold to Liverpool despite extreme
interest, according to the Guardian. The report says that Jurgen Klopp's
side were willing to spend £25 million on signing the 20-year-old,
however Monchengladbach have relented on any deal. They have told
Mahmoud that he would be staying at Gladbach in the short term and not
sold in the summer, as they want him to progress and develop more at the
club.
AZ Alkmaar knock back £16.5million Tottenham bid for Vincent Janssen
AZ Alkmaar have refuted a £16.5 million bid for Vincent Janssen,
according to the Guardian. Janssen has reportedly spoken publicly and
is "disappointed" by the lack of a move, as Mauricio Pochettino
has been pushing hard to sign the striker. The bid of £16.5 million is
below AZ's valuation which is believed to be around £20 million for the
22-year-old, who in his first season in the Dutch league topped the
scorer's chart with 27 goals.
Newcastle set to sign Matt Richie for £12million
Newcastle are close to sealing a £12million deal for Matt
Ritchie, according to the Mirror. The report says that barring the
results of a medical in the next 24 hours, the 26-year-old will sign for
Rafa Benitez's team. The deal was holding up Andros Townsend's impending £13million move to Crystal Palace,
as Newcastle wanted to secure an adequate replacement before signing
off on the player leaving. West Ham had a joint bid for both Richie and
Callum Wilson totalling £25million, before being knocked back.
