74 migrants rescued by Spain's rescue service at the Mediterranean Sea
Spain: 74 migrants crowded in three small boats while trying to cross the Mediterranean Sea into Europe were rescued by Spain's maritime rescue service on Sunday.
According to the rescue service, it rescued 25 migrants before dawn on Sunday from
one boat, and rescued another 19 people from a second boat few hours later and then a third operation rescued a boat carrying 30 more
migrants.No death was reported.
Captains of passing ships had reported the boats carrying the migrants as they approached Spain's southeast coast.
According to the Spanish Red Cross, migrants aboard the first two boats were examined at the port of Almeria.
The other 30 migrants from the third boat were brought to the port of Cartagena, north of Almeria.
