Waitress allegedly attacked by two men in France for serving alcohol during Ramadan

France: A 30 year old French waitress in Nice cafe was allegedly assaulted by two men for serving alcohol during Ramadan.

The waitress, a Muslim of Tunisian origin, who was also observing Ramadan, was serving drinks on the cafe terrace when the two men began to insult her in Arabic calling her a "dirty whore" and telling her she should she should be ashamed of serving alcohol during the holy month. 

One of the men slapped her across the face, leaving her with a black eye after she was knocked to the ground.

The unnamed waitress, said one of the men shouted at her i Arabic:

 "If I was God, I would have hung you." The waitress replied: "You're not God to judge me."

"I didn't think that in France, the country of liberty, you could be attacked for that."

Police said the men were identified using CCTV footage but had yet to apprehend the men.

The waitress added; Why did they insult me? I feel “degraded, humiliated and sullied” following the incident and noted she had previously served alcohol in Tunisia without any issue.

I don't want other women to have to be victims of such an attack. It's not because I serve alcohol that I'm not fulfilling my religious duty, I do it because I'm a waitress,".

One of the men an illegal migrant is known as a notorious threatening figure in the district.
