Niger Delta Avengers blow up Chevron oil well despite heavy military presence

 

Niger Delta Avengers militants on Wednesday morning blew up Chevron's  RMP23 and RMP24 Oil Wells in Bayelsa State despite heavy military presence in the area.
According to reports, the RMP23 and RMP24 are Chevron's highest swamp Producing Oil Wells. The attack might have great consequences to the Nigerian dwindling economy as the explosion of these wells is likely to completely paralyze Chevron's oil activities in the country.
The NDA claimed responsibility for the explosion in what would yet be the biggest attack since its emergence. The group made the news known through its twitter post, claiming that the attack was executed around 3:44am this morning. The statement reads- 

 "With heavy presence of 100 Gunboats, 4 Warships and Jet bombers, NDA blew up Chevron Oil Well RMP23 and RMP24 3:44am this morning"

 "This is to show the whole world that Nigerian military is good in harassing innocent civilians."
