Man who opens fire in cinema complex in Viernheim, Germany killed by police
Germany: A masked man armed with a gun and
ammunition belt who took several people hostages at a cinema complex in western
German town of Viernheim, near Frankfurt on Thursday has been shot dead by the police, confirmed the police.
Initial reports claims about 20 to 50 people were injured, but according to a police spokesman, Bernd Hochstaedter no one was wounded.
In a statement by the interior minister of Hesse state, Peter Beuth, to regional parliament;
Bernd Hochstaedter said that the man had not been identified yet to determine his motive, adding that nothing immediately indicted him to having a militant background.
Bernd Hochstaedter could only describe the incident as “an unclear threat situation”.

The presence of heavily-armed policemen were seen outside the movie theater complex.
According
to reports, the shooter allegedly gained entrance into the cinema
heavily armed around 3pm before the shooting started. He then reportedly
shut himself
inside.Bernd Hochstaedter said that the man had not been identified yet to determine his motive, adding that nothing immediately indicted him to having a militant background.
