French Open: World number one Novak Djokovic 29, from Serbia claimed a career Grand Slam
by defeating Andy Murray to win his maiden French Open title in the French Open final at Roland Garos on Sunday.
Djokovic who outclassed Murray 3-6, 6-1, 6-2 and 6-4 to win his 12th Grand Slam, now has all the sport’s four greatest trophies in his possession becoming only the third man in history to hold all four majors at the same time
After losing the first set to the British number one on Philippe
Chatrier, Djokovic took command of the game in later sets draining the brave Murray who appeared to run out of steam, breaking serve at will.
"It's a very special moment, possibly the biggest moment in my career," said Djokovic.
Djokovic is looking to overhaul Roger Federer’s total of 17 Grand Slam title in the coming years.
"This is his (Djokovic) day today. What he has achieved the last
12 months in phenomenal, winning all four slams in the same year is an
amazing achievement." Murray said in his post-match press conference.
