Zimbabwean opposition party protest in thousands against Mugabe
The protesters, marched through the center of Bulawayo, halting traffic in the city. Though the protest went peacefully.
“We will continue to demand that President Robert Mugabe goes,” MDC’s Organizing Secretary Abednico Bhebhe told reporters on Friday, ahead of the march. “We’ll continue criticizing his failures and those of his government.” Zimbabwe is in “intensive care,” he said.The MDC’s leader, and ex-prime minister Morgan Tsvangirai, had on April 14 said the party would hold demonstrations across the country because of its worsening economy.
Recall earlier last week, the ruling Zimbabwe African National Union-Patriotic Front party held a “Million Man March” in the capital, Harare, in show of support for Mugabe.
