Saudi Arabia execute a Nigerian, Fahd Houssawi for murdering a police officer

Being its 95th execution this year, Saudi authorities on Sunday put to death a Nigerian, Fahd Houssawi in the western city of Taif after he was convicted of killing a policeman. The latest in a series of executions has drew concern from human rights groups.

The ultra-conservative Muslim kingdom, imposes the death sanction for various offenses including murder, drug trafficking, armed robbery, rape and apostasy.
In a statement by the interior ministry; Fahd Houssawi had been found guilty of strangling the policeman and beating his head against the ground until he died, the ministry said.
Amnesty International has warned that more than 100 executions could be seen in the first half of 2016 alone at the current rate of Saudi Arabia executions.
