Cyprus Talks: Development expected soon as UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres is expected to meet separately with the two leaders in New York later this month
The UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres who appointed temporary advisor Jane Holl Lute to feel the air as to whether or not a resumption of talks are possible is expected to meet separately with the two leaders in New York later this month.
President Mustafa Akıncı who will be leaving for New York on the 25th of September is expected to meet with the UN Secretary General on the 29th.
Akıncı will also be holding other bilateral meetings and contacts in New York on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly.
The Secretary General’s Special Representative Elizabeth Spehar who will be meeting with the two leaders separately ahead of New York is expected to come together with President Akıncı on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the President will also be meeting with the leaders of the 4 parties in the coalition government to consult with them before heading off to New York.
The meeting will take place later in the week.
